Sonopsis:

En la primera temporada, los hermanos Sam y Dean Winchester buscan a su padre desaparecido, John Winchester, un «cazador» cuya profesión habitual era enfrentar a cosas paranormales. La única guía que puede facilitarles la búsqueda es el diario personal de John, el cual contiene detalles sobre eventos y criaturas extraordinarias. Una vez que logran encontrar a su padre, Sam y Dean deciden trabajar en equipo para localizar al demonio Azazel, responsable de la muerte de su madre cuando ambos eran niños, es decir 23 años antes de los sucesos relatados a lo largo de esta temporada. Cuando Azazel asesinó a su madre, infectó a Sam con «sangre infernal», lo cual ocasiona que éste tenga poderes psíquicos una vez que ha alcanzado la mayoría de edad. Sin embargo, al final resultan gravemente heridos en un accidente de tráfico, provocado por un sujeto poseído por fuerzas demoníacas.
